Training 360 Swimming & Lifesaving: Prestige 100 Singapore Award 2026/2027

For Training 360 Swimming & Lifesaving, swimming is more than a sport. It is a lifelong skill, a form of protection and, for some learners, the beginning of a meaningful career. This belief has guided the organisation for nearly 18 years and forms the foundation of its recognition with the Prestige 100 Singapore Award 2026/2027.

Founded by brothers Coach Lau Sheng Xiang and Coach Lau Sheng Yang, Training 360 grew from their own journey as young swimmers. Inspired by a mentor who guided them from learning to swim to becoming instructors, they established a school that would offer more than lessons by creating opportunities for confidence, personal development and professional growth.

Today, Training 360 has a team of approximately 15 coaches serving around

500 to 550 learners. Its programmes are conducted mainly at Yishun Swimming Complex and Bukit Canberra Swimming Complex, with private and condominium lessons offered across Singapore.

A Complete Aquatic Pathway

The “360” represents the organisation’s all-round approach to aquatic education. Learners may begin with water confidence and basic swimming skills before progressing into SwimSafer, lifesaving, CPR, lifeguarding and professional swimming instructor training. Its programmes include children’s and adult swimming lessons, private and condominium classes, Lifesaving 1, 2 and 3, Bronze Medallion, CPR and SSI swimming instructor training. This pathway enables learners to progress from swimmers into lifesavers and from students into aquatic professionals.

Safety Before Speed

Safety remains at the heart of Training 360’s teaching philosophy. Beginner classes are conducted in smaller groups so coaches can observe learners closely, correct techniques effectively and provide individual support. Training

360 does not believe in rushing students towards certificates or medals. Learners progress according to their ability, confidence and readiness, while parents receive honest and realistic feedback. The goal is not merely to complete a syllabus, but to develop safe, capable and confident swimmers.

Developing Lifesavers and Careers

Training 360 has built a strong reputation in lifesaving education. In 2025, it facilitated 459 lifesaving certifications and was recognised as one of the Singapore Lifesaving Society’s leading training providers for four consecutive years. Its participants include youths, working adults, aspiring lifeguards, members of the public and employees sponsored by corporate organisations.

The organisation also provides bilingual and simplified-English support for international candidates from countries including China, India and Korea. This helps capable learners overcome language barriers while maintaining the required training and assessment standards.

Aspiring swimming instructors receive theory lessons, practical training, lesson-planning guidance and supervised teaching attachments. Where suitable, graduates may also be connected with coaching assignments and industry opportunities.

For some learners, the journey begins with learning how to float. It may eventually lead to saving a life, becoming a lifeguard or teaching the next generation.

Growing with Purpose

Training 360 has established a strong presence in northern Singapore, particularly in Yishun, Sembawang and Woodlands. Its growth has been supported by long-term relationships, family referrals and learners who continue progressing from swimming into lifesaving and professional training. As the organisation expands, it continues to improve its digital systems and administrative processes. However, technology will support, not replace, the personal connection between coaches, learners and families.

The Prestige 100 Singapore Award recognises more than business growth. It celebrates an organisation that has transformed mentorship into a wider ecosystem of swimming education, lifesaving, career development and community contribution.

Training 360’s purpose remains clear:

To teach people not only how to swim, but also how to stay safe, support others and move confidently towards their next opportunity.
