Approximately 80% of its work focuses on residential projects, ranging from HDB flats and condominiums to landed properties, while the remaining 20% comprise of commercial spaces including offices and boutique coffee shops like Tham Jiak.

Behind the company’s growth is founder Mr. Carvin, who has more than a decade of experience in the renovation industry. His entrepreneurial journey was shaped by adversity. After the previous contractor he worked for encountered serious financial difficulties, Mr. Carvin took the initiative to forge his own path, eventually bringing former colleagues into the new business. He also took more than a year to fully settle outstanding payments to his staff, ensuring that his former colleagues would not bear the consequences of the previous company’s financial difficulties. Starting a new company was far from easy. Elysian had to establish credibility from scratch while competing in a market where aggressive pricing and intense competition are commonplace. Finding experienced designers was another challenge, requiring the company to invest heavily in training and developing younger talent.

Today, one of Elysian’s defining strengths is its emphasis on people development. The company has established a structured career progression pathway, allowing designers to advance from Junior Designer through Senior Designer, Assistant Manager, Manager, Senior Manager and Director roles.

Training is equally comprehensive. New designers undergo a full month of onboarding followed by two months of tagging before they are expected to independently manage renovation projects. Training covers both technical and professional development, including hardware, software, technical tools, project management, colour coordination, mentorship and industry trends.
