Normanton Healthcare Group is redefining community-based healthcare in Singapore through its District Family Clinics brand by offering an alternative to the increasingly corporate-dominated medical landscape. Since its establishment in February 2024, the District Family Clinics have rapidly gained recognition for its patient-first approach, complemented by cost-effective, accessible and high-quality medical care. Its dedication to excellence has been affirmed by prestigious accolades such as the Prestige 100 Singapore Award and the Top Business Service and Quality Award 2025/2026, cementing its reputation as a leader in the primary healthcare sector.

The idea of the District Family Clinics was conceived when founders of the group noticed that traditional family clinics in Singapore were gradually being replaced by large corporate healthcare groups, creating a gap in primary medical care across various districts in Singapore. Growing up, they appreciated the close relationship forged between multigenerational families and the neighbourhood family doctor but dreaded inefficiencies and long waiting times. This was what shaped the mission of the District Family Clinics- to preserve the essence of a neighbourhood community-centric clinic while leveraging technology and economies of scale to enhance patients’ care journeys in an affordable way.

What sets the District Family Clinics brand apart from other clinic chains is its bold decision to individually name each clinic after the neighbourhood it serves. Since its launch in February 2024, the group has successfully established four clinics and introduced District mHealth- an islandwide Telehealth, Home Medical, Home Nursing and Home Rehabilitation service. This expansion reflects its unwavering commitment to making quality healthcare accessible to all.

Another defining feature of District Family Clinics is its dedicated full-time multidisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive patient care across the group. Led by Medical Director Dr. Zhao, the team includes a Senior Staff Nurse, Pharmacist, Principal Physiotherapist, Social Worker, and Shan, the Group Operations and Procurement Manager. This pioneering approach—uncommon among small group practices—reflects the clinic’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing patient well-being.

Another standout feature of District Family Clinics is its island-wide teleconsultation service, designed for optimal convenience and efficiency. Unlike other telehealth providers, the Group’s dynamic matching algorithm pairs patients with the most suitable doctor based upon factors such as language preference, clinic proximity, and real-time queue status. This ensures that patients are seen swiftly and medication delivery costs are kept to a minimum. Additionally, all teleconsultation doctors are based in the clinics, ensuring continuity of care should an in-person follow-up be needed.

Committed to delivering the highest standard of patient care, the District Family Clinics upholds a meticulous selection process when expanding its team. Every candidate undergoes thorough screening and interviews with both the hiring manager and the group’s managing director to ensure alignment with the clinic’s mission and values. With a highly selective approach—sometimes choosing just one candidate from a pool of 300 to 400 applicants—the clinic ensures only the best join its ranks. Once a part of the team, each member receives competitive compensation and fully sponsored opportunities for skill development and career advancement.

Beyond providing quality healthcare, the District Family Clinics is deeply committed to giving back to the community. In celebration of Singapore’s 60th anniversary, the SG60 Giving Back Initiative @ District Family Clinics was launched in April 2025. Recognizing the rising cost of medical care and honouring the contributions of foreign workers who helped build Singapore, the group has pledged over SGD $100,000 to support its patients. As part of this initiative, every clinic patient—regardless of race, nationality, language, or religion—will receive a SGD $150 credit to offset medical bills, reinforcing the clinic’s dedication to inclusive and accessible healthcare.

While currently focused on Singapore, District Family Clinics has ambitious plans for expansion. Over the next 12 to 18 months, the group aims to establish a core network of 10 to 12 brick-and-mortar clinics, along with a multi-specialty medical centre and rehabilitation facilities strategically positioned across the island. This growth plan aligns and complements its mission the strengthen its islandwide home care services through District mHealth.

Additionally, Normanton Healthcare, the group’s holding company, is also doubling down on its investment in medical technology and artificial intelligence to enable primary healthcare. Over the next 24 months, it has committed over SGD$1,000,000 to design, develop, pilot and implement an AI-enhanced integrated healthcare services platform. This initiative aims to ease the care burden of not just Singapore’s rapidly aging population but also those of our regional neighbours.

With a strong foundation, a clear vision, and a dedicated team, the team is set to raise industry standards and redefine the future of healthcare. In an era where medical services often feel impersonal, Normanton Healthcare stands out by proving that compassionate, community-centered care can thrive alongside innovation and efficiency.
